Amy finally told the truth.
Richard had stolen baby Lucas as leverage against one of the investigators pursuing his financial crimes.
But when the plan became dangerous, Richard intended to abandon the child.
Amy refused to let that happen.
She took Lucas and ran.
For years, she secretly protected the boy while pretending loyalty to Richard.
Then Amy met Daniel.
She tried to build a normal life.
She married him.
She had Emma.
But Richard eventually found her again.
The morning Amy disappeared, he threatened both children.
Amy made a desperate bargain.
She would disappear with Lucas if Richard promised to leave Daniel and Emma alone.
Richard agreed.
Amy staged her death and vanished.
Daniel listened in disbelief.
“You should have trusted me.”
“I was terrified.”
“You took away my choice.”
“I know.”
“You took away Emma's mother.”
Amy began crying.
“I know.”
Daniel walked toward the door.
