Noah’s real name was Lucas Bennett.
He had disappeared from a hospital nursery when he was only three days old.
His parents, Sarah and Michael Bennett, never stopped looking.
The kidnapping had destroyed their marriage, but they remained connected by one promise.
They would never stop searching for their son.
Now they were standing inside a police interview room waiting to meet him.
Noah refused to enter.
“My mother is Amy.”
Daniel understood.
Biology could not erase twelve years.
Eventually Sarah stepped into the hallway alone.
She didn't run toward him.
She didn't grab him.
She simply sat several feet away.
“I've waited twelve years to see your face,” she said.
Noah looked down.
“But you don't have to call me Mom.”
His eyes filled with tears.
Sarah's voice shook.
“You don't have to be anybody you're not ready to be.”
Slowly, Noah moved closer.
But as the family reunion began, Detective Monroe received a phone call.
