Richard retaliated by calling an emergency board meeting.
Using his influence, he pushed Adrian out of the company temporarily.
Instead of fighting, Adrian resigned.
His executives were stunned.
Richard told him he was throwing away everything.
Adrian finally understood the truth.
“No, Dad. I’m finally figuring out what everything is.”
When he reached Nora’s house, Lucas had already heard the news.
“You lost your company because of me.”
“No,” Adrian said. “I chose you because of me.”
He showed Lucas the DNA report—then tore it into pieces.
Lucas stared.
Adrian explained that he never wanted the first thing he gave his son to be a piece of paper proving the boy belonged to him.
