The Secret Richard Vale Buried
Chapter 05 - The Secret Richard Vale Buried
Adrian drove directly to his father’s estate.
Richard did not deny anything.
He admitted intercepting Emily’s attempts to contact Adrian. He believed a pregnant girlfriend would destroy Adrian’s chances of rebuilding his career and entering the business world.
“You stole eleven years from me,” Adrian said.
Richard claimed he was protecting him.
Then Adrian asked the question he feared most.
“Did you know Emily was dying?”
Richard looked away.
That was enough.
Emily had begged Richard to let Adrian meet Lucas before she died.
Richard refused.
Adrian finally understood that the man who claimed to have built his life had also built the walls around it.
“You didn’t build my future,” Adrian said.
“You built the prison.”
As Adrian walked away, Richard called after him.

“How do you even know the boy is yours?”
The cruel question followed Adrian all the way home.
