Adrian requested a DNA test—not because he doubted Emily, but because he knew Richard would use every legal weapon available.
Unfortunately, Lucas overheard the conversation.

Adrian tried to explain.
Lucas stepped away.
“My mom wasn’t a liar.”
Adrian told him he believed that.
“Then why do you need a test?”

“Mom said if you knew about me, you would come. You’re here now, and you still don’t know if you want me.”
