The Signature

Chapter 12 - The Signature

The document showed that Sarah had accepted a large payment from Dominic.

In exchange, she agreed never to contact Ethan again.

Lily stared at her mother's signature.

Ethan felt sick.

Dominic smiled.

"Your saint wasn't forced forever. Eventually, she chose the money."

Lily grabbed the paper.

"No."

"Read it."

The payment was two hundred thousand dollars.

Twenty-three years earlier.

Lily walked outside without speaking.

Ethan followed.

In the driveway, she finally broke down.

"Was my entire life purchased?"

Ethan wanted to defend Sarah.

But he didn't understand either.

Then Ray arrived.

He examined the document.

Something bothered him.

"The date."

Ethan looked.

Sarah had supposedly signed the agreement on October 14.

Ray remembered that date.

Why?

Because on October 14 of that year, Sarah had been hospitalized after a severe car accident outside Reno.

She couldn't have been in California signing documents.

They checked old hospital records.

Ray was right.

The signature was forged.

Lily's sadness became fury.

Dominic had built his empire on lies.

But now they finally had something that could destroy him.

Forgery.

Fraud.

And potentially theft of millions of dollars in property.

Ethan looked toward Dominic's mansion.

For once, Dominic Vale was no longer the most powerful person in the room.

The truth was.
