That single, fragile word dropped into the silent hall like a bomb.
Victoria’s expression transformed in a split second. Her regal composure evaporated, replaced by raw cruelty and unhinged terror. Without waiting for Adrian to process what was happening, Victoria gathered her expensive lace train and stormed down the aisle.
“Where did these beggars come from?! Security, throw them out immediately!” Victoria shrieked, her voice cracking with fear.
She lunged forward, grabbing Clara’s frail arm and attempting to drag both children out through the side exit to dispose of them before the truth could be exposed.
“Get over here! Get out!” Victoria hissed, pinching Clara’s skin violently.
Despite the pain and exhaustion, Clara refused to let go of baby Mia. She held her baby sister tight, digging her bare feet into the velvet carpet with fierce determination, her eyes burning with defiance as she locked gazes with the woman who had betrayed them.
