The Unbroken Crest

Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Crest

Six months later.

The morning sun filtered brightly through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Sterling lakeside mansion. The air was filled with the sweet melody of a piano piece being practiced in the living room.

Clara sat at the grand piano, her fingers gliding gracefully across the white keys. Her hair was now shiny and healthy, styled with a small golden clip. Sitting beside her on the bench was baby Mia, giggling joyfully as she hit the high keys with her tiny hands.

Adrian walked into the room carrying a tray of fresh breakfast pastries and juice. He set the tray down, watching his two daughters with a warm, complete smile that had been absent from his face for half a decade.

"Daddy! Look, I learned the second verse!" Clara called out proudly, turning her head toward him.

"I heard it, sweetheart. Your mother would have been so proud of you," Adrian said gently, walking over to sit beside them on the bench. He wrapped his broad arms around both of his girls, pulling them close against his chest.

Around Clara’s neck, the platinum crest necklace rested safely, glowing brightly under the morning light. The darkness of the past, the deception, and the pain had been completely swept away. The wedding that never happened was the greatest blessing of his life—because it had restored the only thing that truly mattered.

They were broken no more. They were home, safe, and together at last.
