Victor's Offer

Chapter 12 - Victor's Offer

Victor entered alone.

He asked his security team to remain outside.

Ethan kept the gun lowered but ready.

Victor looked around the cabin.

"So this is where you've been hiding."

Adrian stepped between them.

"Tell your men to leave."

Victor smiled sadly.

"You still don't understand."

"Then help me understand."

Victor looked at Ethan.

"Your brother stole from me."

Ethan laughed.

"You stole from our father."

"I built everything your father had."

Victor's calm finally disappeared.

"I made that company valuable."

Adrian stared at him.

"So you killed him?"

Victor's face went still.

He never answered directly.

Instead, he looked toward Noah.

"Children shouldn't hear family business."

Adrian moved in front of the boy.

"Don't look at him."

Victor sighed.

Then he made Adrian an offer.

Walk away.

Destroy Ethan's evidence.

In return, Victor would transfer twenty million dollars into a trust for Noah and arrange complete protection for Rachel and Ethan.

"No prosecution," Victor said.

"No scandal."

Adrian almost laughed.

"You think this is about money?"

"It's always about money."

"No."

Adrian looked at his brother.

"That's where you were wrong."

Victor's expression darkened.

Adrian continued.

"You spent twenty years convincing us we had nobody except you."

He stepped closer.

"But we're still here."

Victor glanced toward the windows.

His men waited outside.

"You have five minutes to reconsider."

He turned to leave.

Then Ethan spoke.

"Victor."

The older man stopped.

Ethan raised the digital recorder.

"You should know something."

Victor looked back.

May you like

Ethan smiled for the first time.

"You've been recorded since you walked through the door."
