Justice Delivered

Chapter 09 - Justice Delivered
Ten minutes later, the private VIP suite on the top floor was filled with warmth, emotion, and tears of joy.
Arthur Vance sat in the armchair beside Khloe’s bed, gently holding her hand, looking at the glowing ultrasound picture pinned to her chart with profound happiness.
“Thank you, Khloe,” Arthur said softly, his voice trembling with emotion. “Thank you for protecting my granddaughter today. You showed the strength of a true Vance.”
“I just did what any mother would do, Arthur,” Khloe smiled warmly, resting her head against her pillows. “I’m just so glad you’re home.”
At that moment, Officer Davis stepped into the room, holding a leather folder.
“Mr. Vance, Mr. Vance Senior,” Officer Davis announced respectfully. “I wanted to give you an official update on the custody bookings.”
Marcus stood beside his father’s chair. “What’s the status?”
“Eleanor Vance was arrested at Vance Manor twenty minutes ago while attempting to board a private vehicle with three million dollars in unregistered bearer bonds,” Officer Davis reported. “She and Isabella have both been denied bail by the federal magistrate due to flight risk and the severity of the charges.”
Officer Davis opened the folder, displaying official booking photos of Eleanor and Isabella—both wearing orange federal jumpsuits, their manicured hair mess, their faces stripped of all arrogance, replaced by utter defeat and despair.
“The District Attorney’s office has filed multiple felony counts against both of them,” Davis added. “Attempted murder of an unborn child, conspiracy, grand larceny, corporate fraud, and attempted poisoning. They are facing a minimum of thirty years to life in a federal penitentiary without the possibility of parole.”
Marcus looked at the booking photos without a single shred of pity. The two women who had tried to murder his child and destroy his marriage were finally going to pay for every crime they had ever committed.
“And Dr. Harrison?” Marcus asked.
“Harrison accepted a full plea agreement,” Davis answered. “He surrendered his medical license permanently and gave state prosecutors five years of recorded conversations with Eleanor detailing their financial bribes. His testimony guarantees Eleanor and Isabella will spend the rest of their lives behind bars.”
“Good,” Arthur Vance said flatly, resting his hands on his silver walking cane. “Make sure our legal team assists the D.A. with every piece of digital evidence we have.”
Officer Davis nodded respectfully and stepped out of the room, closing the door behind him.

The suite returned to a peaceful, warm quiet. Marcus walked over to the bed, sitting beside Khloe, taking her hand in his while his father held her other hand.
For the first time in two painful, chaotic years, the dark clouds hanging over the Vance family had completely cleared away, replaced by the warm promise of a bright, beautiful new morning.
