The Cloud Footage

Chapter 04 - The Cloud Footage
The tablet screen displayed crisp, crystal-clear 4K video footage taken from the top corner of Room 402.
On the screen, Khloe was seen sleeping peacefully in her hospital bed at 2:15 PM.
At 2:18 PM, the door opened quietly. Isabella walked into the room, carrying her designer leather handbag. She didn't look like a concerned relative visiting a sick family member; her face was twisted in a cold, sinister expression.
The video audio was muffled, but the visual actions were horrifyingly clear.
Isabella walked up to the IV pole, pulled a pre-filled medical syringe from her purse, and removed the rubber cap. She inserted the needle directly into the top port of Khloe’s saline bag, depressing the plunger until every drop of the clear chemical was injected into the drip.
Gasps erupted from the nurses watching the screen.
On the video, Khloe suddenly stirred and woke up. She saw Isabella standing over her IV line and reached out to pull the tube away.
Isabella instantly grabbed Khloe by her hair, yanked her violently off the high hospital bed, and dragged her onto the marble floor!
Khloe fell hard, frantically curling her body into a protective ball around her seven-month pregnant belly. Isabella stood directly over her, raising her foot, pressing the sharp red heel of her shoe directly against Khloe’s ribs, mocking her as Khloe begged for mercy.
Two seconds later, the video showed the door opening, and Marcus walking into the room.
Marcus stared at the glowing tablet screen, his body shaking violently with a mixture of heartbreak and terrifying rage. He looked up from the screen, staring at Isabella like a man who had just realized he had been harboring a demon in his home for years.
“You dragged my pregnant wife off her bed...” Marcus whispered, his voice cracking. “You put your heel on her...”
Officer Davis took out his heavy steel handcuffs with a sharp, metallic click.
“Isabella Vance,” Officer Davis stated firmly, pulling her hands behind her back. “You are under arrest for attempted murder of an unborn child, aggravated felony assault, and poisoning.”
“No! Let go of me!” Isabella thrashed wildly, screaming as the cold steel cuffs snapped around her wrists. “Marcus! Tell them to stop! I did it for us! I did it for the family! She’s an outsider! She’s going to take everything that belongs to us!”
“Get her out of my sight,” Marcus spat, turning his back on her completely.
As Officer Davis and his partner forced a hysterical, screaming Isabella out through the doorway and down the hospital corridor, Captain Miller paused near Marcus.
“Mr. Vance,” Miller said quietly, adjusting his glasses. “There is something else on this recording that you need to see.”
Marcus looked up, frowning. “What do you mean? You just showed us the attack.”
“The cloud recording didn't start at 2:15 PM today, sir,” Captain Miller explained, his face darkening with deep concern. “Our server archives continuously record thirty-day loops. When my tech team pulled the file for Room 402, we discovered another recording uploaded three nights ago at 3:00 AM.”
Khloe sat up on her bed, her face turning pale. “Three nights ago? But I was admitted to this hospital four days ago...”
Captain Miller rewound the tablet video, tapping a file dated three days prior.
On the screen, a dark figure in a doctor’s lab coat walked into Khloe’s room while she was unconscious under heavy sedatives. The figure pulled open Khloe’s medical chart, took out a smartphone, and took high-resolution photos of Khloe’s blood test results and private genetic screening files.
The figure then turned toward the camera for a split second to adjust their surgical mask.

It wasn't Isabella.
It was Dr. Harrison—Khloe’s chief obstetrician, who was currently standing right beside her bed.
